Our Kitchen, as a Functional Craft from the Forest
朦々とした雪風の中、もの言わず、凛と立つ木木
切られ、運ばれてきてなお、森の時間は、そこに凝縮されている
木を生業とする人々の手をへて、ここにやってきた材と対話し、私たちは、機能ある台所をデザインする
生活を助ける道具として、木が生きて、使い手と対話しますように
しごとをよく支え、豊かな時間をもたらしますように、という願いを込めて
台所に光がさす時、ふと、その部屋が森に還るような気がすることがある
木のキッチンは、遥か遠い景色を、私たちに運んでくれる
Amid the roar of snow-bearing winds, dignified trees stand in silent, deep in the Hida forest, in central Japan. The memories of the forest still reside in the timber even after the trees are felled and carried down to a sawmill.
Passed on through the hands of forestry workers, the wood reaches us at Atelier Fukunari. Here, as woodworkers, we listen to the voice within each piece to design and craft functional kitchens. With the hope that the soul of this timber product will inspire those who use it and they will sense its organic nature resonate from within, we believe that as a feature of their everyday life, our timber kitchens will enhance cooks’ work, kindling their joy of cooking.
When sunlight streams into the kitchen, it feels as though the entire kitchen space has been transported back to the forest. A timber-crafted kitchen retains the soul of the forest and reminds us of a distant natural landscape.
樹木を伐採した後、その切り株から新しい芽が出て、あらたに樹木が生え替わること。この自然の力を利用した、森林の再生方法は、林業の世界で「萌芽更新(ほうがこうしん)」とよばれます。
HOGAというシリーズ名は、この「萌芽更新」に由来します。
伐られてもなお、みずから新しい命を芽吹かせていく木々のサイクルに、材木の故郷である森と、森を生業とする人々、つくり手、生活者の営みが巡り、次の時代へと橋渡しされてゆく未来を重ねています。
HOGAの由来
About Us
木工ふくなりでは、無垢の木を主素材とし、家具の製作設計を行っています。機能的でありながらも質感を活かすことを心がけながら、流行りにとらわれない普遍的な家具を、少人数で丁寧に製作をしています。キッチンのほか、スタンダード家具、オーダーメイド家具を手掛けています。「HOGA」はふくなりが製作するセミオーダー型のキッチンシリーズです。
